Entries open for next year’s Rapid.Tech + FabCon 3.D Start-Up Award

Creative companies and tech talents wanted – €12,000 prize fund

(Erfurt, 08 December 2017) Entries are now open for the next Rapid.Tech + FabCon 3.D Start-Up Award. The award is aimed at young companies working in the fields of 3D printing and digital fabrication. An expert jury will select eight finalists from all of the submissions, each of whom will be given a free stand in the start-up area at Rapid.Tech + FabCon 3.D 2018. The finalists will then be asked to pitch their new ideas and concepts at the fair before the jury crowns its “Start-Up of the Year”.

At the Start-Up Award 2017, there was a closely fought battle between the eight finalists during the public pitch round. In the end, the jury declared the 3D-printed duplication-proof key by Swiss firm URBANALPS AG, the first of its kind in the world, the most innovative idea in the competition. Berlin-based CellCore GmbH and Additive Elements GmbH from Planegg in Bavaria were named runners-up.

In 2018, the international award will once again have many world class prizes on offer thanks to its numerous partners, including a €12,000 prize fund, two free stands at Rapid.Tech + FabCon 3.D 2019, company coaching from members of the jury, and a one-year licence for Ruhrsource’s Cur3d software.

This year’s Start-Up Award partners are: AM Ventures Holding GmbH (Krailling), bm-t beteiligungsmanagement thüringen GmbH (Erfurt), Coparion GmbH & Co. KG (Cologne), FIT AG (Lupburg), Ruhrsource GmbH (Bochum), Canto Ing. GmbH (Lüdenscheid) and MUC Summit GmbH (Garching).

The submission documents are now available online, with entries due to close on 19 March 2018. All of the information and documents can be found at: www.fabcon-germany.com/en/exhibitors/start-up-award/start-up-award-2018.html
